Account and billing
Creating an account
Register at /register. You will need to verify your email address before account features open up. If the verification email does not arrive, check spam, then request another from the sign-in screen.
An account on its own gives you the same library access an anonymous visitor has. The study tools come with a subscription.
Securing your account
From /account you can:
- Add a passkey — sign in with your device's own biometric or PIN instead of a password. This is the strongest option available here and the one worth setting up first.
- Turn on multi-factor authentication — a second step at sign-in.
- Change your password.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, so if you think someone else has access, change your password and remove any passkey you do not recognise immediately, then email support@studylaw.io.
Subscribing
Subscribe at /subscribe. The price, billing interval, any applicable taxes and any trial terms are shown before you complete checkout.
Payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details under its own terms and privacy notice; StudyLaw does not store your complete card number.
Trials
Where a trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the conversion date. The amount and the timing of that first charge are shown to you before the trial starts.
If you are trialling to evaluate the product, it is worth deciding before the conversion date rather than after it.
Renewals and cancelling
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
You can cancel from /account. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Unless stated otherwise, you keep access for the period you have already paid for.
If a payment fails, paid access may be suspended until the payment is resolved.
Refunds
Refunds are dealt with in the Terms of Service, and nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — those rights apply regardless of what any policy says.
If you believe you have been charged in error, email support@studylaw.io with the account email, the date and amount of the charge, and what you think went wrong.
Your data
What is collected and how it is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy. If you want to access or delete your data, email support@studylaw.io from the address on the account.
Getting help
